The first edition of the Lebanese Film Festival was held at the French Cultural Center of Beirut and Espace SD in August 2001, over two consecutive days. The selection included students diploma films, professional films and independent works. The objective was to put together the best Lebanese production of the last five years, and most of all to show it to the public.
